Your
Very Own Love Song
Last night I read an
interesting article online
about a man who
writes custom love songs for
weddings,
anniversaries, any occasion. You tell
him what kind of
music you like and a little
about your
relationship and he writes a song
perfect for your
situation.
The article mentioned
that one of his customers
was a man trying to save
my marriage who had met
at least 5 marriage
counselors. He had a
tear jerking love
song written for his wife
(cost: $25,000) and
hired a singer to perform it
in their living room
in front of his wife and
kids. She still
divorced him. This is evidence that
marriage
problems are never resolved because of
any one act. There's
no one thing that turns a
relationship around.
"Excellence," Aristotle
said, "is not an act;
it's a habit."
I have since learned
that writing and performing
custom songs is an
entire industry. There are
many artists offering
this service at a full
range of prices (some
as cheap as $100). Just go
to Google.com or
Yahoo.com and type is "custom
songs" and check out
some of the sites. Most of
them offer samples of
their work, which is
fascinating to listen
to.
Although no one act
can save
marriage or stop
divorce,
this can be one of
MANY REGULAR gestures that
contribute to an
exciting, fun, and romantic relationship.
Traditional marriage
counselors never offer this kind of advice.
Your assignment this
week is to arrange for a
custom song for you
and your spouse. Can you
imagine a love song
with just the right lyrics?
Powerful, right?
If you have some
disposable income, then as I
said go online and
hire an artist in your price
range to do this for
you. You provide the
personal information
and they'll provide the
artistic talent.
If you're on a tight
budget, write the song
yourself. It probably
won't be as professional
(unless you're a
musician), but what your song
lacks in talent it
will make up in sincerity and
effort.
Either way, you can't
lose. Arranging for a
custom love song for
you and your spouse is
thoughtful, fun,
romantic, different, and loving.
And it'll become a
family legacy; like a family
portrait.
If you can, email me
the audio file of your song
when it's done. I'd
love to hear what you came up
with and share it
with some marriage counselors.
